The 15 feet Santa Clause sculpture made by the famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattanaik was the tallest ever Santa Clause in the world books. Sudarsan won the People's Choice Award at the 1st Moscow International Sand Sculpture Championship held in Russia.

After winning the Copenhagen Sand Sculpture Championship 2012, Sudarsan Pattnaik( the famous sand artist) of Odisha was congratulated by the president of India & also by the chief minister Naveen Patnaik. It is a great news for our state.

Sudarsan Pattnaik being selected for Moscow World sand art championship 2013 Russia ( from 21st April to 28th April)is participating in this competition. In this comptition ten countries like India, Russia, Italy, Island, Czech Republic, Bulgeria, Ukraine, Spain, Poland will take part. Pattnaik got invitation from Pavel Mynilkov the Chairman of selection committee and he will carve 2.50 mt high sculpture in this championship. The theme of the sculpture is Secret of the World.

Sudarsan Pattnaik has selected for the 2nd Copenhagen International sand sculpture festival 2013, Denmark(will commence from 12th to 21 may 2013). Seventeen country will participate in this festival including India.Mr Patnayak will solely represent India at the festival.He has planned to carve a 15-feet high sculpture with a theme on environment. He had woned the 1st prize at this championship last year.

Union Culture Minister congratulates Sudarsan Pattnaik

Union Cabinet Minister for Culture Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch, congratulated Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik at New Delhi after winning the Danish Grand Prize at 2nd Copenhagen International sand sculpture festival 2013.
Sudarsan has created a 15 ft. high colour sand sculpture on “Go green, Save Earth” in 7 days for this prestigious festival. In this festival Ghana won the Jury prize and Italy won the Artist prize.
Sudarsan is the only first Indian sand artist who achieved many International prizes including one World championship title and more than 10 time people choice prizes
Last year pattnaik won the Jury prize in Copenhagen. Recently he has won the Moscow Choice prize at Russia.

7ft long tiger with a message "Save our Environment" at Puri beach of Odisha-sand at by Sudarsan Pattnaik


Today International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a 6ft high sand sculpture in which he shows a 7ft long tiger sitting near the cutted forest with a message "Save our Environment" at Puri beach of Odisha. We have destroyed the habitat of wild animals. So save animal, save water, save forest and stop global warming, said Sudarsan about environment & global warming through his sand sculptures.
Students of Sudarsan Sand art institutehelped him to complete this sculpture. Pattnaik used 4 tons of sand and took 3 hours to complete this sculpture.

Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik won a Gold medal at the 12th International Sand Art Competition 2013 in St.Petersburg, Russia. For his 7ft high sand sculpture of Ganesh sitting on Kailash Mountain with Lord Siva & Parvati won the first prize in the competition. The theme was "International Fairy Tales". The other contestants had came from USA, Canada, Holland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Austria and Russia.

Today, the president of India gave the Padma_ shri award to the famous sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik. From Odisha Odissi dancer Geeta Mahalik, Gastroenterologist Subrat Kumar Acharya and Scientist Ajay Parida also got the award.

Sudarsan Pattnaik owned the People’s Choice prize( solo ) on 28th June 2014 at WORLD CUP OF SAND SCULPTING 2014 in Atlantic City, USA for his sand sculpture of “Save Tree, Save the Future”.

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik set another World record in Limca book of Records by carving 100 sand chariot at the Puri beach in Odisha. Pattnaik said he is very happy after getting the official confirmation from the Limca book of records that his 100 sand chariots will placed in the book as World Record.
