Do you know? ....... Odisha government is going to implement a new rule from 1st January 2013 named as Right to Public Service Act . By this act, it will be mandatory for public servants to provide services to the people within a limied time period. Otherwise the people can appeal against the concerned officer & the officials may draw penalties.

Here I'm putting my view about the implementetion of this act. It is a very good act. If it will be implemented, all the nee'dy people can get justice in right time.

ORISSA IS THE FOURTEENTH STTAE IN INDIA GOING TO IMPLEMENT RIGHT TO PUBLIC SERVICE ACT.
So far 12 States in India viz: Madhya Pradesh (18 -8-2010), UP (14-01-2011),Bihar (15-08-2011) Jharkhand(15-11-2011),Uttarakhand(04-10-2011),Chattisgargh(14-12-2011),Rajastahn(21-09-2011),HimachalPradesh(),Delhi()Punjab(20-10-2011),and Karnataka(02-01-2012) the Act came into force on the date specified here .
Now Kerala is the 13 th State in which the Act will be in force wef 01-11-2012 and 14 th State will be Orissa in which the Act shall be in force wef 01-01-2013.
Hope the new enactment may be a worth while for Odiya people.

There are no authority to see the activity of revenue department. When a man goes for land registration or for any official work in these offices, they demand for bribe in each step. A common man's struggle to deal with this type of administration is irritating. This type of corruption should be controlled. I think the people can get justice when the new rule Right to Public Service Act will start working.

It is a good step by government, But, Govt. should think about infrastructure, available of employees and deals with corresponding information. As a Govt. employee at Revenue Deptt, it is quite embarrassing and hard to work due to limited number of staffs and lack of infrastcture.

The Odisha government implemented the Right to Public Service Act, 2012 from January 1, 2013.
By this act, citizens of Odisha will be provided services in time. They can get their land records, electricity and water connections, driving licenses and other useful services within a fixed time. For exa- The registration of land can be done only in three days. At least 25
services will be included in this act.The Chief minister has issued instructions to departments to trainofficials to avoid penalty and to provide better service to the people. All the government offices will display a timeframe for particular services and will work in that time limit otherwise they will be penalised.

You can get more information about services covered under this act at the Public Offices, who are providing services under this Act. They will be displaying this information on their notice board. Once you fill the application for the service, it will go to a officer who will look into your application and you will receive an acknowledgement. It will have the last date of the given time limit mentioned in it, before which you will get your service, for which you applied. submit all the necessary documents. The documents required for Odisha Right to Public Services Act for different services is different. The information about what documents are required for what service will be mentioned on the notice board of particular department.
