Odisha'll get 30% more funds in Union Railways Budget2016-17
Centre allocates 30% more funds to Odisha specific projects in Union Railways Budget 2016-17. The allocation is 30% more than the previous allocation.The Narendra Modi-led NDA government made the highest-ever allocation for the state in the railway budget. Centre grants Rs. 120/ cr for Khurda-Balangir project; Odisha will contribute Rs. 120/ cr in Rail Budget. Project work for rail connectivity to Paradip port is being undertaken in Rail Budget. Facilities for pilgrims will be improved & enhanced at 18 stations including Puri. 12.87 crore for Daitari – Banspani route, 5.21 crore for Lanjigarh – Junagarh route, 200 crore for Haridaspur – Paradip route and 150 crore for Talcher – Bimlagarh, Rs150cr Angul-Sukinda railway route. For doubling of railway tracks, Sambalpur – Rengali route got Rs 85 crore, Cuttack - Barang got Rs 1 lakh and Raj Athgarh - Barang got Rs 1 crore. Token grant allocated for Jeypore-Malkangiri, Jeypore-Nabrangpur projects.

It's really a good news for Odisha. In the previous years, always Odisha was dissatisfied with Railway budgets. This year it must develop its railway with this amount of fund.
