Bakula Amabasya 2011,odiya festival.
Bakula amabasya, an odiya festival will be celebrated tomorrow. In this day the mango flower(Amba Baula) is worshiped.

In the occasion of Baula amabasya, the odias prepare this recipe in their house. This is a delicious recipe.
Recipe of Khira Gaintha

Ingredients required
-----------------------
Milk (khira) - 1 ltr
Rice (arua chaula) - 100 gm
Coconut (nadia)- ¼ of a coconut
Sugar(Chini ) -75gm
Ghee (Gheea) -3 tbsp
Big cardamom(Bada aleicha) - 4 pcs
Salt(Luna) - to taste
Method of preparation
--------------------------
1-First soak the rice for 1 hour, then properly wash and grind it into a thick paste.
2-Take ½ cup of the paste and keep aside.
3-Make small cubes of the coconut,crush the big cardamom seeds to powder.
4-Take water in a deep pan (proportionally equal to the amount of the rest rice paste) add sugar & salt into it , then boil.
5-When it starts boiling, put the rice paste and stir it for 10-15 mins on a low flame and make a fine dough out of it.
6- Cooldown the dough to the room temperature, kneed the dough with ghee to make it softer.
7-Make small balls out of the dough.
8-Boil milk in a deep pan, add sugar (75 grm), coconut cubes & cardamom powder, mix it well.
9-Add the previously prepared rice balls to the boiled milk and cook it for 10-15 minutes.
10-Adding a pinch of salt to the remaining ½ cup rice paste kept aside, pour it to the above boiled milk and stir it properly.
11-Boil the above mixture for 5 minutes on a lower flame, then serve.
